Directions and Parking

Lawrenceville is approximately 2.9 miles east of Downtown Pittsburgh. The tour begins at 4734 Butler Street, which is the main street in the center of the neighborhood. Parking attendants will show you where to park. You may also drive the tour, or ride Molly's Trolley. 

by AUTOMOBILE 

A. from Downtown:

  1. Take Liberty Ave. to Fisk St. (Fisk St. is one block past 40th St.) and turn left onto Fisk St.
  2. Continue on Fisk St., crossing Penn Ave., turning right on Butler St. 
  3. Follow Butler approximately 9 blocks to the Allegheny Cemetery, 4734 Butler Street. 

B. from Oakland:

  1. Drive on Forbes Ave. to South Craig St., and turn left onto South Craig St. 
  2. Proceed on South Craig St. to North Craig St. [South Craig St. becomes North Craig St. past Fifth Ave]. 
  3. Proceed on North Craig to Bigelow Blvd. North Craig St. becomes Bigelow Blvd. past Baum Blvd. 
  4. Proceed on Bigelow Blvd. and get into the right lane. 
  5. Turn right and cross the Bloomfield Bridge. 
  6. Stay in the right lane and cross Liberty Ave. and proceed on Main St, crossing over Penn Ave. to Butler St. 
  7. Turn right on Butler St. 
  8. Follow Butler approximately 9 blocks to the Allegheny Cemetery, 4734 Butler Street.

C. from the East:

  1. Take Penn Ave. to Main St., and turn right onto Main St., crossing over Penn Ave. to Butler St. 
  2. Turn right on Butler St. 
  3. Follow Butler approximately 9 blocks to the Allegheny Cemetery, 4734 Butler Street.

D. from the North [Route 28]:

  1. Take the Oakland/Lawrenceville Exit. 
  2. Cross the 40th St. [Washington Crossing] Bridge. 
  3. Continue on 40th St. to Butler St., and turn left onto Butler St. 
  4. Follow Butler approximately 9 blocks to the Allegheny Cemetery, 4734 Butler Street.

 

by PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

A. from Downtown:

  1. Board a 91A bus at the Subway Station on Liberty Ave. 
  2. Leave the bus at Butler and 47 St. 
  3. Walk straight ahead to the cemetery gate 

B. from Oakland:

  1. Board a 54C bus on Forbes Ave. in front of The Carnegie Music Hall. 
  2. Leave the bus at Penn Ave. and 40th St. 
  3. Walk downhill on 40th Street to Butler. Turn right on Butler Street and walk 9 blocks to the cemetery.
